PAST SUCCESSFUL EVENTS-

event3.jpg

In 2022 we collaborated with other KCL societies to host a STEM ball hosting 420 guests. This was a great opportunity to connect with STEM and non-STEM students!

The Panel discussion was a part of #womenhistorymonth, led by ScienceMind and Womxn in Bioscience members with two panel guests, Dr Claudia Chisari and Dr Rumbi Mutenga.

The panel provided a platform to discuss nuances and complexities in women's health such as mental, reproductive, sexual and menstrual health. Some insights were learning about the panel guests' experiences with the impact of these themes on women's lives.

As part of #womenhistorymonth, we started a campaign to interview people in ScienceMind who identify themselves as women and featuring them on the website. Uplifting and inspiring women in STEM.

We hosted a talk with Professor of Sensory and Behavioural Ecology, Lars Chittka on bee cognition with Q&A to end the session.

He has served as an editor of the open access journal "PLoS Biology", as well as on the editorial boards of the Proceedings of the Royal Society of London and the Quarterly Review of Biology! So it was a fantastic opportunity for people who wish to pursue a career in ecology and learn more about other fields of biology!

Dr Ella Hubtter who is a Kings Alumni delivered a talk on "Becoming a Science Communicator" which was particularly  helpful to those wanting to build a career in Science Communication.
